Iowa, known as the Hawkeye State, is a nice blend of rural, urban and farming communities. It is bordered by the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers on either side. Several schools offer programs in business and business-related disciplines.
Iowa is currently pushing the attainment of higher education degrees. A 2003 analysis indicated that Iowans with a high school diploma earned an average of $13.66/hour; those with bachelor's degrees or higher earned $25.97/hour on average. Occupations in the business services sector are expected to make the biggest jump in coming years, with 29,585 new jobs projected by 2010. Many of these jobs are in the life sciences, manufacturing and information technology sectors.
