Lastly, marketing managers coordinate with advertising and promotion managers to promote the firm’s products and services and to attract potential customers.

Education and Training

Most marketing managers have at least a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a concentration in marketing. Many marketing specialists earn an MBA in order to become a marketing manager.

The average annual salary for marketing managers is $118,160. Satellite telecommunications companies pay the most -- the mean annual salary for marketing managers who work for those companies is $154,020. Motion picture, financial investment, and scientific R&D firms follow close behind, all with salaries around $150,000.
